The study program “Bachelor of Science in IT Security / Information Engineering” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time mono-bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who are interested in seeking employment as system developers, security engineers or data protection officers. The interdisciplinary teaching approach of the Bachelor program combines the three core subdisciplines of the IT field, namely IT Security, Information Technology and Computer Science. Participants are required to complete a three-month internship in which they could apply the acquired knowledge into practice by contributing to real-life data protection scenarios. Students who lack the necessary knowledge in mathematics and technics could choose to complete a preparatory course before the beginning of their studies.
