The study program “Master of Science in IT Security / Networks and Systems” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time mono-master course with a duration of four semesters. This program is targeted towards participants with a Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences or IT studies. The Master’s program focuses on providing students with fundamental knowledge about the core disciplines in the field of IT security, mainly Computer Science, Information Technology and Cryptography. Examples of specialization modules are “Security Engineering”, “Human-Centred Security”, and “Mobile Security”. Postgraduates who lack sufficient understandings of either computer science, mathematics or IT studies, could take a preparatory course before the beginning of their studies.
