The study program “Master of Science in Lasers and Photonics” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time mono-master course with a duration of four semesters. This program is targeted towards prospective students with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences who wish to build a career as development engineers. The aim of the Master’s program is to enable students to contribute to current research by deepening their scientific knowledge concerning the use of light to produce more effective lasers. Some of the diverse major modules that participants could specialize in are “Semiconductor Lasers”, “Terahertz Technology”, “Optical Spectroscopy and New Materials”, and “Micromanipulation and Spectroscopy”. In addition, the program provides students with the opportunity to work with research institutes abroad and further develop their expertise in the field.
