The study program “Master of Education in Philosophy/practical Philosophy” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time master course with a duration of four semesters. The Master’s program is targeted towards postgraduates with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy who wish to build a professional career as teachers. This program is the final step that participants must complete before beginning their preparatory service at educational institutions. In addition to addressing fundamental questions of human existence, values and preconceived knowledge, the Master’s program offers special modules which prepare them for the challenges of the teaching profession. As part of their studies, participants must complete a four-week mandatory internship at an accredited secondary school or gymnasium.
