The study program “Bachelor of Science in Psychology” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time mono-bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who would like to find a career in counselling, mental clinics or social services. The aim of the Bachelor program is to acquaint students with the core principles of conducting empirical research to be able to scientifically investigate the ways through which people perceive and process information. In addition to that, participants learn how to pinpoint certain behavioural symptoms in order to test whether or not a person suffers from a psychological disorder. Throughout their studies, students are required to complete two types of internships; the first one must last a minimum of 150 hours, while the second one- a minimum of 240 hours.
