The study program “Master of Arts in Religious Studies” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time combined master course with a duration of four semesters. This program is an ideal continuation for Religious Studies graduates who wish to pursue employment in cultural and educational institutions where academic knowledge of religious customs and practices is required. The Master’s program enables participants to comprehensively examine the role that religion plays in modern societies, in terms of its relevance. Students are provided with the opportunity the acquire specialist knowledge in several subdisciplines: “Material History of Religion”, “Systematic Religious Studies”, and “Applied Religious Studies”. The program strongly advises participants to take part in internship programs, as well as study abroad exchanges. In addition, language proficiency in a source language which relevance is significant for the field of Religious Studies is required.
