The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who would like to either seek a professional career in cultural establishments in which academic knowledge of different religious practices is required or those who wish to find employment in educational institutions. The aim of the Bachelor program is to acquaint students with the interrelations between different religions and their relevance in contemporary society. As part of the curriculum, participants have the possibility to acquire language skills in Greek, Arabic or Sanskrit. The program also requires students to complete a one-month internship program at a related institution.
