The study program “Master of Arts in Romance Studies” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time combined master course with a duration of four semesters. This program is targeted towards graduates from the corresponding combined Bachelor’s degree that the university offers who wish to pursue a professional career in cultural institutions where academic knowledge of Romance Philology is required. The Master’s program enables students to acquire specialist knowledge in a particular subfield by majoring in one of the following modules: “Cultural Studies”, “Philology”, “Literary Studies”, and “Foreign Language Training”. In addition, the program strongly recommends participants to take part in internship programs, as well as study abroad exchange programs. A prerequisite to applying for this program is a certificate of language proficiency, amounting to C1 level.
