The study program „Bachelor of Arts in Romance Studies Italian” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who would like to either seek a professional career in international organizations in which academic knowledge of Italian philology is required or those who wish to find employment in educational institutions. The aim of the bachelor program is to encourage students to study the academic foundations behind the cultural and literary practices that have led to the formation and development of the Italian language to its contemporary version. Participants who lack the necessary knowledge of Italian could choose to follow an introductory course before the beginning of their studies. However, it must be noted that prospective students who wish to pursue a career as teachers, must provide a language certificate in Latin.
