The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Romance Studies Spanish” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who would like to either seek a professional career in international organizations in which academic knowledge of Spanish literature and language is required or those who wish to find employment in educational institutions. The particular focus on Spanish philology of the Bachelor program allows students to gain an academic knowledge of the societal practices that have occurred throughout the centuries and which have shaped the Spanish culture that people now today. Participants may choose to specialize in one of the following areas: Philology, Literary Studies, Foreign Language Training or Regional and Cultural Studies. A compulsory part of the program is the participation in studying abroad programs at Spanish universities.
