Description
The study program “Master of Arts in Russian Studies” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time combined master course with a duration of four semesters. This program is suitable for prospective students with a Bachelor’s degree in Russian Culture, Slavonic Philology, Eastern European History or a related field who are interested in seeking employment in academia, cultural institutions or the public sector. During their studies, participants are allowed to obtain academic knowledge in the various subdisciplines related to Russian Philology, by majoring in a particular subject. Some of the special courses that they could follow are “Russian Cultural Traditions in the European Context”, “Culture and Media”, as well as “Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts”. In addition, the program requires students to complete a two-week international summer school in Moscow. Participants are also provided with the opportunity to either complete an internship or take part in a two-month intensive language course in the country. That is why a prerequisite for starting this program is Russian language skills, amounting to B2 level.
