The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Russian Culture” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who are either interested in pursuing a professional career in international organizations in which academic knowledge of Russian literature, language and culture is required or those who wish to find employment in educational institutions. The aim of the Bachelor program is to encourage students to take part in discussions that touch on an intricate subject matter, related to the country’s Soviet past, for example. The role that the country plays in the context of the globalized Western world is also closely examined. Sufficient language competencies in Russian are a necessary precondition to applying for this program.
