The study program “Master of Arts in Slavonic Studies” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time mono-master course with a duration of four semesters. This program is targeted towards participants with a related Bachelor’s degree who would like to pursue a professional career in cultural or educational institutions where specialist knowledge of Slavic languages, cultures and works of literature is in demand. The Master’s program aims at the academic acquisition of the development of the literary and cultural practices of Central and Eastern Europe. In addition, a prerequisite for applying for this program is the completion of a six-week internship at a cultural organization. As the two core Slavic languages of the degree program are Russian and Polish, proof of language competencies at level B2 and B1, respectively, is required. Students must also demonstrate language competencies in another foreign language, i.e. Greek or Latin.
