The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time combined bachelor course with a duration of six semesters. This program is targeted towards participants who are interested in seeking a professional career in dramaturgy, theatre or in academia. The Bachelor program aims at providing students with an academic overview of the development of stage performances throughout history and their significance in contemporary societies. Participants are provided with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the subject matter by specializing in one of the following fields: “History”, “Theory of Scenic Arts”, “Analysis”, “Dramaturgy”, “Mediality”, “Scenic Research”, and “Philosophy”. Participating in a one-month exchange program abroad is strongly advisable.
