The study program “Master of Arts in Theatre Studies” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time mono-master course with a duration of four semesters. This program is targeted towards prospective students with a relevant previous academic background who are interested in deepening their expertise in the subject matter. The interdisciplinary approach of the Master’s programs allows participants to comprehensively examine various notions and discourses related to the field of Theatrology. For instance, students are encouraged to academically investigate the role that theatrical performances have played throughout history by juxtaposing it with the challenges that theatre faces today. Completion of an internship program is optional.
