The study program “Master of Science/Master of Engineering in Transformation of Urban Landscapes” offered at Ruhr University Bochum provides a full-time mono-master course with a duration of four semesters. This degree programme is carried out within the framework of an interacademic project in which the Ruhr-Universität Bochum is involved together with the Tongji University Shanghai. This requires participants to spend two semesters abroad as part of an exchange program. The interdisciplinary approach of the Master’s program aims at the scientific comparison of the similarities and difference between the cityscapes of Europe and China. In addition, students are enabled to practically compare and explore the urban transformations of the two regions from an economic, ecological and social perspective. After successful completion of the program, participants also receive an engineering degree from the Tongji University Shanghai.
