The Saarland University, founded in 1948, is a public university with locations in Saarbrücken, and Homburg, Saarland. It breaks down into the following six faculties: the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Human and Business Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology, and the Faculty of Humanities. The Saarland University accomodates round about 17,300 students in undergraduate, graduate, and teacher education programs. It provides a wide range of international study programs. This includes the English-taught Master degree courses “Advanced Materials Science and Engineering“, “American Studies/British Studies/English Linguistics“, “Border Studies“, “Educational Technology“, “Embedded Systems“, “European Management“, “Language and Communication Technologies“, “Language Science and Technology“, “Security and Privacy“, “Systems Engineering“, “Theoretical Linguistics: Dynamics and Variation“, as well as “Visual Computing“. Added to this are study programs that are partially taught in French, double degree international programs, or internationally oriented doctorates. The scope of studies offered also includes several certificate courses in the field of language and cultures, as well as certificate courses to acquire key competencies and additional qualifications.
