Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences, founded in 1991, is a public university seated in Schmalkalden, Thuringia. It is divided into five faculties: the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Computer Science, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the Faculty of Business and Economics, as well as the Faculty of Business Law. Round about 2,800 students are currently enrolled at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences in 16 Bachelor and six Master degree courses. Apart from conventional Bachelor and Master studies, the University offers the dual study courses “Electrical Engineering and Information Technology“, as well as “Mechanical Engineering“. The range of studies offered is complemented by extra-occupational certificate studies (Application engineer (FH) for Additive Processes/Rapid Technologies, Pharmacy Economist, Economist (FH) for Control and Taxation, Economist (FH) for Online Marketing, Economist for Corporate Succession, Business Process Manager (FH), Financial Business Administrator, Health Economist, Local Energy Manager, Production Manager (FH) for Plastic Engineering, Product Manager, Project Manager (FH) for Tooling and Mold Engineering, Quality Manager for Manufacturing and Organization Processes, Regulation Manager (FH), Sports Economist (FH), Engineer (FH) für Renewable Energies and Renewable Raw Materials, Event Manager, Contract Manager, Sales Manager), as well as extra-occupational training courses (bAV Advisor (Certified Corporate Pension Advisor, bAV Advisor for Deferred Compensation and Supply of Staff Care).
