The Schwetzingen Technical Institute & Graduate Court Registrars‘ College, founded in 1953, is a public institution of higher education seated in Schwetzingen, Baden-Wuerttemberg. It provides training to trainee graduate court registrars from the Federal States of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Saarland, and Rhineland-Palatinate. The total number of students currently studying at the College is approximately 470. The College provides a three-year study program that leads to a Diplom-Rechtspfleger (FH) degree (= Graduate Court Registrar). The theoretical training period is divided into two segments, each lasting more than 12 months: The first segment is aimed at providing students with fundamental knowledge in law. The second segment is a direct follow-up to the practical training, aiming to complement and deepen on an academic basis the theoretical knowledge taking into consideration the practical experiences made. As of the 2016 winter term, Schwetzingen Technical Institute & Graduate Court Registrars‘ College also offers the Bachelor program “Court Bailiff“ (LL.B.).
