Water technology is used to treat water resources in order to improve them and make them suitable for a specific use, such as drinking, recreation, industrial supply and maintenance, with safety and sustainability being top priorities. Students gain skills that will help them maintain water and test its quality, and troubleshoot water systems in practical training, as well learn about mechanical and electrical systems, treatment technologies and techniques, chemistry, biology, mathematics, environmental law, utility management, health and safety. Water pollution is a serious issue currently, caused by the immense amount of waste being thrown in it annually. It directly affects the environment and is harmful not only for marine life, but also for humans. So, it is important to fight pollution and come up with innovative solutions, which is what Water Technology students can learn to do. Graduates can work in wastewater management, technical laboratories, water distribution, sewage treatment, environmental law, government and nongovernment organizations, environmental chemistry, technology and science, water treatment, water production and many others.
