Description
The four-semester study program “Master of Science in Legal psychology” offered by SRH University Heidelberg provides students with practical competencies in forensic psychology diagnostics, assessment, and analysis during the course of study. Students will learn the relevant techniques as well as the psychological and legal foundations of the most essential areas of assessment by using real case drawing such as crime prognosis. Moreover, participants will also gain an understanding of other discipline such as criminology and forensic psychiatry. During the classes scientific ideas and current research findings are addressed, and guest lecturers are invited to share their practical experiences. There are also field trips to court hearing and juvenile detention centres, with the purpose students to have an early sense of what to expect in their working life. Graduates are eligible to work in the areas of criminal law, family law, etc. They can work with victims of criminal offenses or in prevention programs.
