The Städelschule, founded in 1817, is an art school seated in Frankfurt am Main with approximately 200 students. It offers as many as three study programs: the two-year Master program “Curatorial Studies – Theory – History – Criticism“ (M.A.), the two-year postgraduate study program „Master of Arts in Architecture“ (M.A.), and the one-year research program “Advanced Architectural Research Programme“ (AARP). The program “Curatorial Studies“, which is carried out at the Institute of Art History of the Goethe University and in partnership with the Städel Museum, MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt, Weltkulturen Museum, Liebighaus Skulpturensammlung, Historisches Museum Frankfurt und Portikus, is designed to promote scientific reflection on curation and art criticism with the objective to combine theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge. The Advanced Architectural Research Programme is designed to enable students to develop individual research interests.
