The State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, founded in 1857, is a public school of music and drama seated in Stuttgart, Baden-Wuerttemberg. It provides nearly 720 students with study opportunities in the fields of Music and Performing Arts. The range of studies offered in the field of Music includes undergraduate and postgraduate study courses. At undergraduate level, prospective students are offered a Bachelor of Music program for all instrumental subjects (except Accordion) and the subjects Voice, Choir Conducting, Orchestra Conducting, Composition, Music Theory, and Elementary Music Pedagogy, as well as the programs “Church Music B“ and “Teacher education in Music (Gymnasium/Grammar School)“. At postgraduate level, the University offers more than 20 Master degree courses, the consecutive Master program “Teacher Education in Music (Gymnasium)“, several extra-occupational continuing education progams, as well as Concert Examination courses, and doctorates. The scope of studies offered in the field of Performing Arts includes the Bachelor degree courses “Acting“, “Puppet Theater“, “Art of Speech/Speech Training“, the Master degree courses “Opera“, “Media Speech“, “Rhetoric“, and “Art of Speech“. Added to the educational portfolio are supplementary and contact studies. Graduates of the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart receive a B.Mus., B.A., M.Mus., or M.A.
