The Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, founded in 1995, is a public university seated in Sankt Augustin, North Rhine-Westphalia. It has additional locations in Bonn, Rheinbach, and Hennef. Approximately 8,000 students are enrolled in 16 Bachelor and 15 Master degree programs across five departments. The departments include the Management Science department (Sankt Augustin, Rheinbach), the Computer Science department (Sankt Augustin), the Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Technical Journalism department (Sankt Augustin), the Natural Science department (Rheinbach), and the Social Security Studies department (Hennef). Also on offer are continuing education and certificate programs. In partnership with RWTH Aachen University, the University of Bonn, and the Fraunhofer Institute in Sankt Augustin, the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences runs the so-called Bonn-Aachen International Center for Information Technology (b-it) – a scientific facility whose main purpose is to internationalize Master programs in Applied Computer Science at elite level.
