The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland, founded in 1998, is a higher education facility seated in Delsberg. It unites 28 schools that spread across the cantons of Fribourg, Geneva, Neuenburg, Wallis, Waadt, Jura, and Bern. With a total of more than 19,000 students enrolled in 46 Bachelor programs and 22 Master programs, University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland is the second-largest university of applied sciences throughout Switzerland. The University is comprised of six faculties: the Faculty of Art and Design, the Faculty of Business, Management and Services, the Faculty of Engineering & Architecture, the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, the Faculty of Health Sciences, and the Faculty of Social Work. Culminating in a Bachelor’s degree are, for example, the degree programs “Fine Arts“, “Visual Communication“, “Business Economics“, “Hospitality“, “Tourism“, “Agronomy“, “Landscape Architecture“, “Media Engineering“, “Telecommunication“, “Contemporary Dance“, “Theatre“, “Occupational Therapy“, “Osteopathy“, “Psychomotorics“, and “Social Work“. Leading to a Master’s degree are, among others, the study programs “Film“, “Global Hospitality Business“, “Life Sciences“, “Composition and Music Theory“, “Nursing Science“, and “Musical Performance“. The University’s educational portfolio is complemented by numerous MAS, EMBA, DAS and CAS programs.
