University of Applied Sciences Emden/Leer, founded in 2009, is a public university with locations in Emden, and Leer, Lower Saxony. It accomodates round about 4,700 students. The University offers 23 Bachelor degree courses and nine Master degree courses in four faculties: Social Work and Health, the Faculty of Technology, the Faculty of Business Studies, and Maritime Studies (at the Leer location). Among the course offerings at Bachelor’s level are the study courses “Business Administration“, “Bioengineering/Bioinformatics“, “Chemical Engineering/Environment Engineering“, “Electrical Engineering“, “Energy Efficiency“, “Mechanical Engineering and Design“, “Childhood Education“, “Inclusive Early Education“, and “Computer Science“. The scope of Master studies includes the study courses “Applied Life Sciences“, “Business Management“, “Engineering Physics“, “Industrial Informatics“, “Management Consulting“, “Maritime Operations“, “Mechanical Engineering“, “Social Work and Health within the Context of Social Cohesion“ (full-time/part-time), as well as “Technical Management“. In part, course offerings have an interdiciplinary and international orientation (e.g. with an integrated study period abroad). The University’s educational portfolio is complemented by online and continuing education courses, as well as four study courses that are offered in partnership with the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg.
