The Fachhochschule für Finanzen Nordrhein-Westfalen, which has been located in Nordkirchen Castle since 1958, is a school of public administration seated in North Rhine-Westphalia. The School’s purpose is to train persons seeking a career as senior civil servants in the state administration of North Rhine-Westphalia. Almost 1,500 students are currently enrolled at the School in a three-year dual study program. The training program is divided into a 21-month study phase and a 15-month practical training phase at a tax office in North Rhine-Westphalia. The focus of the study program is on German Tax Law, covering the following areas: Value-added Tax Law, Income Tax Law, Corporate Taxation Law, Fiscal Law, and Balance Tax Law. The program culminates in a Diplom-FinanzwirtIn (FH) degree.
