University of Applied Sciences for the Administration of Justice of North-Rhine-Westphalia, founded in 1976, is a public administration university seated in Bad Münstereifel. It prepares nearly 700 students for professional activities in the upper grade of the civil service in judicature and law enforcement. The University is split up into two departments: judicature and law enforcement. While the law enforcement department provides training exclusively to judiciary students in North Rhine-Westphalia, the judicature department, due to inter-federal partnerships, also provides training in law enforcement and public administration to students from other federal states. Also falling within the remit of the University are an inter-federal further training program in the area of prosecutor service, as well as other judicial further training programs. The study program “Administration of Justice“ leads to the degree “Diplom-Rechtspfleger/-in (FH)“; the study program “Law Enforcement“ leads to the degree “Diplom-Verwaltungswirt/-in (FH)“.
