The four-semester course “Bachelor of Science in Optometry” at the University of Applied Sciences Jena is part-time training. The program is with interdisciplinary orientation and prepares students for excellent careers. During the course, students engage in optometric measurements and evaluations, analysis and treatment of binocular disorders, pathology and pharmacology, low vision in people of all ages, and other competencies. Graduates become professional opticians and find employment in optical shops, optical institutes and clinical facilities. Applicants must present a general university entrance qualification (Abitur) or equivalent.
