The University of Applied Sciences of SMEs, founded in 2000, is a state-approved private university that specializes in Media, Business, Human Resources, Health, and Social Affairs. It has a total of nearly 4,000 students that spread across the following sites: Bielefeld (headquarters), Bamberg, Hannover, Cologne, Munich, Pulheim, Rostock, Schwerin, and Berlin. The University is sponsored by the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM) GmbH (Bielefeld). Prospective students can choose from a range of studies that comprises state-accredited and internationally recognized Bachelor, Master and doctoral programs in the fields of Human Resources, Media, Health, Social Affairs, and Tourism. In addition to full-time study programs, University of Applied Sciences of SMEs also offers extra-occupational part-time study programs and distance learning programs, as well as dual and trinal study models (in cooperation with industry).
