Description
The degree program “Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and Physics” with a duration of three semesters is offered at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt. The course is conducted in cooperation with the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Physics and General Sciences at the University of Nuremberg, so part of the studies take place there. It builds on the competence acquired at the bachelor’s level by adding depth to the specialization areas. Mathematical models and simulations are developed to solve problems in physics, technology, and natural sciences. Analytical and numerical approaches form models for understanding and solving technical issues. The interface between mathematics and physics is the basis for the interdisciplinary method of the degree. “Research-based learning” is the core principle of the degree design, it guides the project work during the studies, as well as the master’s thesis preparation.
