Description

At the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, FHWS for short, there is degree course “Bachelor of Engineering in Architecture”, designed to be covered in eight semesters, with both German and English as languages of instruction. Traditionally, this area of studies includes a broad array of activities and touches upon many scientific areas, which are all taken into account in the course curriculum. Planning, calculations, design, construction, management, organization, are diverse architect’s responsibilities, so creativity and artistic talent meet the managerial and economic competence for executing projects, as well as knowledge of the corresponding legal frame, often in an international context. The teaching methods are also ample and modern, as are the facilities provided. Workshops, laboratories, studio work, excursions, visits, and a practice period in the fifth semester, are embedded in the syllabus. A bachelor’s thesis concludes the studies, and an aptitude test gives access to them.
