Description
The Bachelor’s degree program “Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering” at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt requires a pre-study 15-week internship, and foresees a practical period in the fifth semester, since the applicable side of the studies is sought at all times. The scientific background is divided into two periods – the first two semesters, out of the seven altogether, are for basic studies, and the five afterwards – for the specialist course. Lectures and exercises are synchronized with the laboratory work. The civil engineering constructions are meaningful and influential in many layers of life, so the responsibility of the professionals is enormous. The degree gives knowledge of applied science necessary for independent decision-making and work, interdisciplinary skills in management and presentation, communication and organization of construction projects, plus an awareness of safety, usability and ecological aspects. Possible areas of expertise are structural engineering, hydraulic, traffic and residential construction.
