Description
The degree course “Bachelor of Science in Industrial Mathematics” at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt follows a program of seven semesters, in which English is also used. A specialist in the area of Technomathematics translates the physical issues into mathematical equations, and then these are transformed into computer simulations, which are the basis for the solutions suggested. Control of technical processes and analysis of sensor data are also done by specialists with such qualification. The degree combines knowledge from mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering. Importance is placed upon the group work in seeking solutions for technical problems. Students choose either a mathematics or a physics internship. Business administration is included as a subject. After graduation students can choose whether to take up the traditional role in a team of technicians, or continue along programming, engineering, consulting or control career paths.
