Description

For a period of seven semesters, the degree program “Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics” can be achieved at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt. The degree is available in a twin program, entirely in English or German. The requirement for the engineering profile is a completed internship period prior to the studies. Following admission, a basic course in sciences, engineering, and business administration will be imparted for the first three semesters. Afterwards, a consolidation period of studies in the specific disciplines for the degree will follow, during the fourth and the fifth semester. It comprises modules in mechanical and electrical engineering, since nowadays “intelligent machines” include components of both. The practical phase is in the sixth semester, and the project work, internship, and the development of the bachelor’s thesis are for the last one. The aim of the studies is the preparation of generalists, able to operate in various specific fields of expertise, who, besides the solid scientific preparation, are also taught how to use soft-skills and interpersonal competence, and respect global environmental or sustainability concerns.
