The degree program “Bachelor of Engineering in Plastics and Elastomer Technology” at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt is seven semesters long, and taught in German. It is designed to answer the need for specialists in the specific plastics industry, so the course is entirely practice-oriented. The traditional production methods are taught alongside current innovative ones, like 3D printing, rubber technology, fiber-reinforced plastics and computer-aided development. The internships are performed in modern fully-equipped laboratories. The academic credits which could be obtained are 210, distributed into two core subject semesters, one practical, and the rest for advanced studies. Subjects involved are mathematics, physics, chemistry, construction, engineering, plastics processing, science of polymers. Suitable areas of occupation for future graduates are various prosperous industries, like automotive, aerospace, leisure and sports equipment, as well as research institutes.
