The University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt is a provider of the “Master of Engineering in Product and System Development” course. It occupies three sememsters, taught in German. It is a continuation of the bachelor’s courses in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, plastics and elastomer technology. The whole process of creation of products, their life cycle, is looked into, even recycling. Application of the imparted theoretical modules is performed through the onsite training in companies, as well as group work. The technical modules from the undergraduate studies are touched upon, but, mostly, the knowledge imparted is from the non-technical, project management cycle. The goal of the course’s concept is that specialists who graduate could be independent managers of the entire process of product and system development – development, manufacture, operation, sales, monitoring, especially in an international context.
