The German-taught degree program “Master of Arts in Social Work” at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt involves three semesters of academic and practice work for gaining methodological competence in social science, managerial work in social enterprises, consultancies, associations, foiundations and academic institutions. The two theoretical semesters of the course deal in depth with Science and Social Work, Behavioral Methods of Action, Law in Social Work, Organization and Quality Management, Finance and Personnel Management, Media and Social Work, Behavioral Projects. The third semester is primarily for the thesis investigation work and its writing. The behavioral analysis skills will serve students in planning and conducting interventions in their professional activities with targeted social groups or individuals. The degree also lays the foundations for a confident independent academic work and presentations skills, if a career at a research institution is to be pursued after graduation.
