The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Technical Translation (Technology or Business)” can be studied at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt in the area of Specialist Translation, either for Business or Technology. The period of the studies is six semesters, the first three of which are not delivered at the university, since the degree is linked to an apprenticeship at a specialist academy for foreign language professions, or the training for a state-certified translator. The fifth semester is for an internship abroad, and the sixth for translation classes onsite and a bachelor’s thesis. Other subjects of the curriculum, besides translation, are intercultural communication, and technology for translation. The language combinations offered are German plus English, French, or Spanish. The studies go in a parallel form alongside the specialist academy ones, and are scheduled for the holiday periods or the weekends.
