The master’s degree course “Master of Arts in Technical and Media Translation” at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt is for specialists with a suitable level of the languages in use, and a completed bachelor’s degree in translation or philology. The period varies from four full-time to eight part-time semesters. Technical and life science, or media content is translated with the help of technologies. CAT tools, subtling software, well-equipped studios and a media centre, support students in the localization, subtitling, audio description and voice-over translation. For the medical translations, students can rely on the cooperation with the medical faculty. “Fit for the Market” is a module run by business practitioners as guest lecturers. The course also encourages students’ exchanges abroad, and the Erasmus mobility. Students can become successful translators, voice-over specialists, subtitlers, or even foreign language teachers. English, French, Spanish, Swedish and Italian are the possible languages to specialize in.
