The teacher training program “Art Education’’ at the University of Art Kassel leads to a state examination degree. To be accepted, each student must pass an entrance examination. The program offers each student to select the exact specialization, which entails seven to nine semesters based on the chosen track with a possibility to be extended for a doctorate degree. The overall curriculum is designed to be in close collaboration with other classes, which grants students at a later stage the ability to select their own range of applied areas. The structure is module-based and includes compulsory and compulsory elective courses. The course of studies prepares participants for teachers of Art at Upper Secondary/Grammar Schools, Lower and Intermediate Secondary Schools, and Primary Schools.
