The University of Augsburg, founded in 1970, is a public university seated in Augsburg, Bavaria. More than 20,000 students are enrolled at seven faculties, namely the faculty of catholic theology, the faculty of business and economics, the faculty of law, the faculty of philosophy and social sciences, the faculty of philology and history, the faculty of mathematics, natural sciences, and materials engineering, the faculty of applied computer science, and the faculty of medicine. Aside from 30 undergraduate degree programs (Bachelor programs, teacher education programs, Magister programs, law studies), there are around 50 postgraduate programs (including extra-occupational programs) on offer. Within the scope of the “Bavarian Elite Network“, which was introduced by the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research and Art, the University of Augsburg also offers various elite graduate programs for graduates with above-average qualifications and motivation. The elite graduate programs include “Ethics of Text Cultures“, “Finance and Information Management“, “Software Engineering“, “Global Change Ecology“, and “Top Math“.
