The University of Basel is a public university seated in Basel, Switzerland. Founded in 1460, it is the oldest university in Switzerland. The renowned university is split up into seven faculties: the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Business and Economics, as well as the Faculty of Psychology. Some 13,000 students are currently enrolled there in study programs at Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral level. Included in the range of studies is a number of English-language study programs, among them the Master programs “African Studies“, “Animal Biology“, “Anthropology“, “Chemistry“, “Computer Science“, “Critical Urbanisms“, “Drug Sciences“, “Ecology“, “Epidemiology“, “Infection Biology“, “International and Monetary Economics“, “Molecular Biology“, “Nanosciences“, “Physics“, “Plant Science“, and “Sustainable Development“. In addition to the regular study offer, the University of Basel also offers extra-occupational continuing education programs, including 16 MAS programs, 14 DAS programs, 35 CAS programs, the MBA program “International Health Management“, as well as various continuing education courses.
