The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Dutch Linguistics and Literary Studies” is offered by University of Bremen with an opportunity of teaching at a grammar school at the University of Oldenburg. Spanning a standard period of six semesters, the curriculum is geared towards students who want to further develop their understanding of Dutch language. After the first year, students have to ability to set individual priorities, choosing between the core areas - linguistics or literature. Having gained competence in the field, graduates are prepared for pursuing careers in publishing, editing, translation, press work, in the journalistic field and many more. Admissions are restricted and a general or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification is needed in order to enroll in the program.
