The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Ancient Languages and Cultures” is offered by University of Cologne. It spans a standard duration of 6 semesters. It must be combined with a second subject or a second field of study from "Ancient Languages and Cultures". The curriculum is aimed at students who are interested in ancient history, languages and cultures. During the program, Egyptology, Ancient History, Greek Philology / Byzantine Studies, Historical-comparative linguistics, Jewish Studies and other core areas are taught. However, for admission, a level B2 in English is required or sufficiency in another modern foreign language. Depending on the field of study, knowledge of Latin or Greek is a prerequisite.
