Description
The “Master of Arts in Ancient Languages and Cultures/Medieval Latin Philology” program at the University of Cologne deepens the knowledge acquired through the bachelor’s degree. During 4 full-time semesters, students benefit from higher academic requirements for specialist training in Middle Ages Latin language and literature, instructions for independent, methodologically diverse scientific work, including collaboration with international research organizations, an emphasis on Latin paleography and manuscript studies, and incorporation into research-oriented medieval Latin edition projects. As part of the admission requirements, candidates must present a bachelor’s degree in Latin Philology, 40 relevant LP, Latin for the translation of moderately difficult poetry and prose, Graecum and a B2 level of English.
