Description
The “Master of Arts in Ancient Languages and Cultures/Egyptology” program at the University of Cologne spans across 4 full-time semesters. Students obtain a thorough understanding of Egyptian and Sudanese archeology, as well as ancient Egyptian languages, along with ideas and practices of Egyptology and museum practice. They benefit from Egyptology's strong collaboration with Cologne's archaeology and classical studies departments, as well as African studies and Egyptology at Bonn. The goal is to familiarize students to contemporary Egyptology research debates. Knowledge of the ancient Egyptian language at the level of the module "Egyptian: language acquisition" must be demonstrated when submitting the master's thesis.
