The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Archeology” is offered by University of Cologne. It has a standard duration of 6 semesters. Students can either specialize in one of the four subject areas: Prehistory and early history, Classical archeology, Archeology of the Roman Provinces or Egyptology. During the German taught curriculum, students gain knowledge in material legacies of earlier societies and cultures. In addition, an international research is done in a cooperation the Archaeological Center for Environmental and Cultural History Geoinformation NRW (AZG), the Africa Research Center and the AMS facility for radiocarbon dating of the University of Cologne. Among the fundamentals of training during the course are quantitative and computer-aided methods in archeology. Having gained competence in the field, graduates become sought-after specialists.
