The double master program “Master of Science in Demography and Social Inequality” at the University of Cologne allows students to complete two master's degrees from two top-tier colleges in only two years. Participants in the program study for one year at each university and earn two master's degrees: a Master of Science in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Cologne and a Master of Science in Population Studies from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. The worldwide program focuses on population dynamics, demographic change, and the issues that modern countries confront as a result of longer life expectancies, lower birth rates, and migration. Students learn how to use sophisticated social research methodologies and data analytic tools to address contemporary challenges including aging, socioeconomic inequality, family dynamics, integration, and education. They are able to get in-depth understanding of various subjects as well as build interdisciplinary research abilities.
