Description
The “Master of Science in Earth Sciences” program at the University of Cologne is structured in three phases that initially build on the skills acquired in the Bachelor’s program, follow with a specialization phase in which two separate focal points (compulsory electives) are chosen in addition to compulsory courses and conclude with a Master’s thesis. Some of the topics explored through the curriculum include Geological geosystem research, Earth surface and environmental processes, Development and dynamics of the solar system and the solid earth, Material research, Paleoclimate and paleoenvironmental research and more. Anyone who has successfully completed a bachelor's degree in geosciences, geology-palaeontology, geophysics-meteorology, crystallography or mineralogy or another scientific degree can be admitted.
